NK Boys Track gets results despite tough weather conditions

WESTERLY — Whether you’re one of the favorites to win the boys outdoor track and field state championship (North Kingstown) or you’re one of many teams just trying to get an athlete on the podium (West Warwick), it wasn’t fun to compete Tuesday afternoon.

The Wizards and Skippers trudged to the southwestern corner of the state to battle Westerly in conditions that were more suited to ice fishing. Battling temperatures in the mid-40’s and a steady head wind down the home stretch, all three teams attempted to earn qualifying teams for Saturday’s Rich Schomp Invitational at Exeter-West Greenwich.
