NHS unified team spreads the word to end the word

Members of the Narragansett High School Unified Basketball Team made a video promoting the “Spread the Word to End the Word” campaign. The video and campaign are aimed at eliminating the use of the word “retarded.” The unified basketball team plays versus South Kingstown today at 3:30 p.m. at NHS. NARRAGANSETT – “Spread the word to end the word.”

That’s the message members of the unified basketball team at Narragansett High School are promoting through a video that has gone viral on YouTube.

With the help of their coaches, Abby Hummel and Krystal Cagnon, they created the video and made a pledge to stop using the “R word” as well as related offensive words.
