WEST WARWICK – Yesterday morning, students at Greenbush Elementary School were getting amped up about positive behavior during a school-wide assembly.
The Ned Show, an international program designed to enhance the school atmosphere, visits with over 2.2 million students annually, according to a news release. They came to West Warwick since Greenbush Elementary began an initiative to reward good behavior two years ago with the Rhode Island Department of Education.
“It illustrates our pledge and our commitment to kids being respectful, responsible and safe. It’s all about making sure kids have the positive interactions around the school environment,” said Susan Buonanno, the principal.
The Ned Show was hosted at Greenbush by Leah, a performer who wishes to be known only by her first name. Ned, Leah explained, is an acronym: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best.
“Whether you’re a student, a teacher, or a Ned Show performer, everything we do, we have to have a positive attitude and keep trying, even when things get in our way and we want to quit,” she told the students.
