Narragansett seeks road and bridge funding

November 1, 2013

NARRAGANSETT- The town of Narragansett is one of 13 towns that applied for funding from the new Municipal Road and Bridge Revolving Fund.

The 13 towns requested a combined $29 million from the program, which was created and passed as part of the 2013 legislative session and was quickly implemented by the Rhode Island Clean Water Finance Agency and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.

The goal of the fund is to take direct action on economic growth, while improving Rhode Island’s locally-maintained roads and bridges.

In Narragansett, any monies received through the program will be used to fund the next phase of the pavement improvement program, according to Narragansett Town Engineer Jeffry Ceasrine.
