Narragansett misses out on state road and bridge funding

April 2, 2014

NARRAGANSETT – The town will likely not receive funding from the state’s Municipal Road and Bridge Revolving Loan Fund.

The General Assembly recently passed an amended version of the bill eliminating the requirement that towns receive voter approval prior to being issued any bonds for roadwork through the revolving loan fund.

According to Narragansett Town Engineer Jeffry Ceasrine, this means that Narragansett’s projects will end up below others on the draft priority list without prior funding authorization.
