WEST WARWICK — After a four-month, intense investigation, police and fire officials were able to narrow down the cause of the Epworth Street apartment building fire that occurred in April to being an act of arson.
Edward Musk, a resident at the apartment complex, was recently indicted for setting the fire that displaced dozens of residents from the 12-unit building and brought fire crews from West Warwick, Warwick, Cranston and Coventry.
West Warwick Police Department Detectives Tony Bettencourt and Patrick Kelley and West Warwick Fire Marshal Jim Bobola agreed that right from the start the investigation got off on the right foot thanks to communication at the scene between the police and fire departments.
Equally as important were the first details investigators were able to gather from those who witnessed the smoky blaze.
