NORTH KINGSTOWNâ€”Theyâ€™re the talk of everyone from radio shock jocks to state congressmen, a hit on college campuses from coast to coast and the target of an United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) investigation, but if you want to find a can of the popular Four Loko caffeinated alcohol drink around the North Kingstown area, youâ€™ve got to go searching high and low, through brand after brand, as they sit inconspicuously buried on a shelf inside of a refrigerated case at Kingstown Liquor Mart.
No fancy advertising or glamorous signs. Just a $2.99 sticker and a row of similar competitor beverages. Heck, if you werenâ€™t looking for them, you probably wouldnâ€™t notice them at all and thatâ€™s exactly how Kingstown Liquor Mart owner Frank Fede feels about the beverages themselves.
