Lemonade fundraiser a success

August 7, 2014

EAST GREENWICH — Every year during the summer months, students at Stork’s Nest Child Academy on South County Trail learn valuable life lessons through the simple means of offering someone a small glass of lemonade.
In the past, Dot Muzzy, Stork’s Nest Owner Barbara Izzo, Education Coordinator Sherry Bowry, Head Teacher Tynicka Tillman and the rest of the administrators at the learning center showed the young children how a small business works, understanding the value of money and knowing how to earn it by selling the summer drink of choice, along with other tasty delicacies like cupcakes and donuts.
This year, Stork’s Nest Child Academy brought back out the lemonade stand and the young children, once again, sold class upon glass upon glass of lemonade to willing customers. But this time, the sales weren’t just about children finding out that they should make lemonade when life hands them lemons.
