Interim town manager selected

October 31, 2011

WEST WARWICK- After the former town manager gave his resignation earlier this month, the title has been temporarily passed along to Malcolm Moore, the finance director and town’s senior department head.

Moore was chosen as the interim town manager by council members at last week’s council meeting.

“We believe he was the most qualified for the interim job,” said Council President Angelo A. Padula, Jr.

He said the Town Council has received as many as 40 applications for the full-time manager’s position. Some of these applications came from candidates living in states as far as Georgia and Texas, said Padula.

Padula explained that Moore could be the interim manager for at least four to six weeks while new candidates for town manager are being interviewed.
