Hodgson wants action on heroin overdose epidemic

April 11, 2014

Sen. Dawson Hodgson

State Sen. Dawson Hodgson is calling for immediate action to address the state’s heroin overdose epidemic.

Sen. Hodgson (R-Dist. 35, East Greenwich, North Kingstown, South Kingstown, Narragansett) is urging the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office to use approximately $60 million in funds from a Google settlement and institute an action plan to tackle safety and justice issues in the state. The attorney general received the funds in 2012 following U.S. Attorney Peter Nehrona’s successful prosecution of Google for advertising illegal prescription drugs online.
