High housing costs becoming problematic

This home on First Avenue is one of 232 affordable housing units in East Greenwich. However, the town needs over 300 more in order to meet the state’s minimum 10-percent requirement.

EAST GREENWICH — Bill Daly, chairperson of the Affordable Housing Commission, Susan Aitcheson, president of the Women’s Development Corporation in Providence, Juliana King of the East Greenwich Planning Department met briefly at East Greenwich Free Library last week to highlight and discuss the expensive situation both current and prospective residents face when living in town.
