July 2, 2014

SOUTH KINGSTOWN - A guided driving tour through South Kingstown does well to shed light on the many historically significant areas and buildings in the town that most people drive by on a daily basis without a second glance.
Beginning and ending in Peace Dale (by no mistake of the creator), the tour remains somewhat in the central area of the town, bringing the driver first to explore the history of the village of Peace Dale in its entirety.
According to the printable guide on the South Kingstown website, “Peace Dale is unique among the mill villages in Rhode Island for its extraordinary number of public buildings and for the role its mill has played in the history of textile manufacturing in New England.
