CHARIHO- The Chariho 10 -year- old All-Star team enjoyed quite the run in the tournament during this All-Star season. However, unfortunately, the team saw their journey to an All-Star championship end on Saturday morning, when they lost to South Kingstown American in Chariho, 10-4. The loss ended a four game winning streak for the team out of the loser’s bracket, and the team fell one game short of the final round of the District 3 tournament.
Despite the loss, assistant coach Andy Blanchard couldn’t be more proud of his team, and the way they fought throughout the entire playoffs.
“This team just really keeps fighting,” said Blanchard. “They put themselves in position to win every single game, and there is absolutely no quit in this team.”
Blanchard knows his team fought hard throughout the entire tournament no matter what the score was in the game.
“Every game, no matter what the score is,” said Blanchard, “they found themselves ready to play and never counted themselves out of a game.”
