Frustration continues to build for Narragansett softball

April 25, 2011

NARRAGANSETT - With the gloves not working and the bats failing to do anything, things did not go well for the Narragansett softball team in a 5-1 loss to Middletown Monday afternoon.
Pitcher Hannah Lindsley threw another solid game, but her defense didn't give her much help as errors allowed most of the Islanders' runs to score.
Middletown pitcher Brittany Lewis wasn't overpowering, but Narragansett struggled to hit her off-speed pitches and Lewis had a perfect game going through four innings until a single by Dani Smerbeck in the fifth. Lindsley managed the only other hit, crushing a triple deep to center field; she scored when the throw to third went wild.
