PROVIDENCE â€“ Six days after the sentencing of 27-year-old Laura Reale for a driving charge stemming from the death of Colin Foote, his father â€“ Richard â€śRobinâ€ť Foote â€“ has filed a four-party lawsuit against those â€śwho are responsibleâ€ť for the fatal crash.
The suit was filed by Foote in Superior Court Dec. 23 and it names the following as defendants: Reale; her father Thomas Reale, who was the owner of her Jetta that was involved in the fatal crash in May 2010; the state of Rhode Island; and the state Division of Motor Vehicles' (DMV) Director Sara Strachan.
No specific monetary amount is listed in the five-page lawsuit, though it states that the funds sought will cover lawyer fees. It further claims that it is â€śtime for those who are responsible to pay up.â€ť It also calls for a jury trail.View more articles in:
