EAST GREENWICH — The Town Council took a step closer Monday night toward finalizing a memorandum of understanding with the East Greenwich School District regarding the upkeep and cost of maintaining athletic fields used by the schools.
Town Manager William Sequino Jr. and School Superintendent Victor Mercurio have spent nearly a year working on an agreement to formalize arrangements between the two entities, in which the town Parks and Recreation Department has maintained fields and the schools have paid for supplies used in their upkeep.
