WAKEFIELD – Feet First of Wakefield once again partnered with Dansko Footwear to raise nearly $6,000 for hungry Rhode Islanders.
For the third year in a row, Feet First and Dansko donated a portion from the sale of each pair of Dansko shoes to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. This year they raised $5,940 during the holiday season, which will be matched by the Food Bank's “End Hunger Challenge Fund” to contribute even further to the community.
“We are pleased in having the opportunity to help the Food Bank and their work to alleviate hunger across our state,” Gerald Richmond, owner of Feet First said. “With support from Dansko Footwear, we were able to increase the amount of our donation to the Food Bank. And, thanks to the matching opportunity, this year's campaign generated nearly $12,000 to help families in need. Our customers are the true driving force behind the gift, and we thank them for supporting our efforts.”
Richmond decided to raise money for the Food Bank three years and enlisted the help of Dansko.
“I've been supporting the Food Bank for years even before involving the business. Three years ago I thought it'd be great to give customers a chance to be a part of it,” Gerald Richmond, owner of Feet First said.
