Embury presents first budget to NK council

Town Manager Michael Embury cautioned that the budget process will be difficult for the town council because of revenue losses and increased need for capital improvements. Embury also stated that the budget would go through a number of iterations before adoption in May.

NORTH KINGSTOWN—At a work session on Tuesday evening, North Kingstown Town Manager Michael Embury presented two preliminary budget proposals for FY 2014-15 to the town council. The first proposes a tax levy increase of 2.88 percent, or a tax rate of $16.08, while the second suggests a levy increase of 2.60 percent, or a tax rate of $19.02.
