EGHS students 'ThinkFast' about dangerous driving

May 10, 2012

EAST GREENWICH — Every year at this time, high-school juniors and seniors start to make plans of renting the tuxedos, renting the limousines, buying flowers and that special dress to dazzle their way into their respective proms.

It’s also that time of the year where schools have to drive home the importance of driving safety and making the best decisions possible. More often than not, students get a glimpse of the trademark ‘crashed car,’ showing what can physically happen if kids aren’t careful behind the wheel.

This year, East Greenwich High School decided that it still wanted to convey those very important messages that could potentially save their lives this prom season, but also didn’t want to have it in a bland or shocking setting.

The school brought forth the message not with a crashed car, but rather in the form of a game show.

Last Friday, all of the juniors and seniors at East Greenwich High School were treated to a two-hour assembly inside the auditorium entitled, “ThinkFast,” a game-show style presentation where all students learned about the dangers of unsafe driving.

Read all about it in the May 10 edition of The Pendulum.
