Rhode Island State Police Superintendent Col. Steven G. Oâ€™Donnell has announced the arrest of a North Kingstown woman on three counts of larceny of $500 and two counts of uttering forged documents after she allegedly stole from the personal and business accounts of the late former governor Bruce Sundlun and his wife, Susan G. â€śSoozieâ€ť Sundlun.
On July 19, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Teresa A. Roby, 37, of 775 Old Baptist Road, NK after an investigation stemming from a complaint filed by Mrs. Sundlun, owner of East Greenwich Photo.
State police allege that between November 2010 and August 2011, Roby â€“ who was the Sundlunsâ€™ bookkeeper â€“ used Mrs. Sundlunâ€™s debit card and wrote checks on her account for personal expenses without authorization; forged Susan and Bruce Sundlun's names on checks to deposit in her personal account; deposited Mrs. Sundlun's unendorsed paychecks in her own account; charged her Verizon cable television, internet and phone bill to East Greenwich Photo Inc.; and charged her children's martial arts lessons to Bruce Sundlun's credit card.
Roby is alleged to have fraudulently obtained $21,386. She was processed at the Wickford Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
