WEST WARWICK — It started out as a basketball game but ended as a baseball game thanks to West Warwick reliever Matt Grenier.
Visiting Narragansett notched eight runs in the first three innings against starter Tommy Doran and reliever Matt Hopper before Grenier entered the game in the fourth inning and proceeded to allow just one unearned run on just two hits in four innings.
The Wizards, who had 10-runned their last two opponents at McCarthy Field, matched the Mariners run for run early in the game and just kept scoring. Junior shortstop Ray Zincone had three hits and two runs scored, while junior Kody Greenhalgh had two hits, an inside-the-park home run and three runs scored in a 13-9 Division II-South win.
