EAST GREENWICH â€” Aside from one teen drinking party that produced 26 arrests, there's little change in the raw numbers compiled in the East Greenwich Drug Program's Mid-Year Report for the period of July 1 to Dec. 19, 2011.
However, Bob Houghtaling, town substance abuse prevention coordinator, admits he worries about a subject not reflected yet in the numbers: abuse of prescription medications.
â€śA lot of people are using prescription drugs,â€ť he said, based on anecdotal evidence he's learned from frequent visits to local schools. â€śA lot of kids are using and abusing prescription medications, but not all of them have hit the radar yet.â€ť
