Counterfeit bills still an issue in Richmond

December 13, 2010

RICHMOND -- Chief of Police Elwood Johnson stated that there is still counterfeit currency circulating in town. This was first brought to the town's attention in November, when the police issued a release alerting residents and business owners of this recent development.

Apparently some counterfeit bills were passed at the Subway restaurant in Wyoming in the past week.

Johnson advised that the business community be sure to scrutinize the bills that come in prior to the sale so that the police could possibly respond while the suspect is still there to possibly figure out where the bills are coming from.
