Council OK’s live music, not bands

June 12, 2014

EAST GREENWICH —Representatives from Havana Bar and Grill were back before the East Greenwich Town Council Monday evening in the hopes of getting an approval for a full entertainment license at the former Post Office Cafe location. Instead, they just got approval for vocal and instrument entertainment, which left some confusion among certain council members.
In a 2-2 vote Council President Michael Isaacs and Mark Watkins Gee casted the dissenting votes. However, they did get approved for dining and vocal/instrument entertainment with a 3-1 vote. When motions were done, Council member Michael Kiernan questioned Isaacs as to what the difference between vocals/instruments and live band was, to which he got no response.
