Concrete on Main Street

September 4, 2014

HOPKINTON – A custom concrete business may soon be moving to Hopkinton.
Justin Hawkins, owner of Livingstone Concrete Studios, which is currently located in Lincoln, is hoping to move his business to 813 Main St. in Hope Valley.
Hawkins and his staff of three craft custom concrete countertops, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and other furnishings for their clients throughout the Northeast.
Hawkins’ father, Albert Hawkins Jr., owner of Hawkins Well and Pump of Westerly, purchased the Main Street property, which was in foreclosure. Currently, the property is zoned residential special and the Hawkins are requesting that the zoning be changed to manufacturing.
On Tuesday, the Hopkinton Town Council heard the request from Albert and Justin Hawkins and asked questions about the nature of the business and future construction on the site if the zoning change is approved.
