Committee approves plans that will alter EG

December 24, 2011

PROVIDENCE – Senators and Representatives of District 35, which encompasses most of East Greenwich, may face a whole new set of voters in several other towns, now that the state’s redistricting commission has endorsed three plans that will radically alter voting districts throughout the state.

In Room 313 at the State House Monday evening, the 17 members of the Special Committee on Reapportionment voted 11-6 to approve the new statewide district map under Congress Plan F; and 17-0 to approve the new districts proposed under Senate Plan E as amended and House Plan D, as amended.
