WOOD RIVER JCT. -- The Chariho Regional School Committee voted 8-0-1 to approve a contract for $8,295 between the district and ClerkBase, a program that will allow live online streaming of board meetings and, possibly, other events. School Committee member William Day, of Richmond, abstained from the vote.
Committee member Deborah Carney, of Charlestown, said she appreciated that the ClerkBase representative, Jay Rosenfeld, attended the meeting to explain and demonstrate the various aspects of the program. "I've used it several times in Charlestown and I think it's a valuable service," she said.
The way it will work is that the agenda for the meeting will be placed online, just as it is now. But under the ClerkBase program, you will be able to click a button next to a specific agenda item to hear the board's discussion on that particular topic. It also allows you to search all the district's documents that are online.
Rosenfeld said that video of special events can be added to Chariho's ClerkBase page, such as sporting events, though it's up to the district to supply the video.View more articles in:
