WOOD RIVER JCT. -- The Chariho Community Innovative Projects Fund (CCIP), administered by the Rhode Island Foundation, has announced grants of $9,050 for the 2010-11 academic year.
CCIP is a partnership of the Community 2000 Education Foundation, the Rotary Club of Chariho, and the Rhode Island Foundation. The CCIP Fund, established at the Rhode Island Foundation in 2003, has awarded more than $70,000 to 110 projects.
One newly funded project is the Chariho Cosmetology Careers project where Chariho area senior citizens may receive half-price services at the salon for the remainder of the year. The project offers everything from manicures through permanent waves, and roller sets. To book a special day, please call 315-2862, 24 hours before you would like an appointment.
Also, clients of Wood River Health Center who are issued special coupons through the center, may receive the same half price off services and must call the same number to book an appointment 24 hours in advance.
The project helps the students understand the need for reaching out to their community and also working with all different aged clientele.View more articles in:
