Charge for all-day kindergarten ad hoc committee approved

April 24, 2014

EAST GREENWICH — The East Greenwich School Committee formally approved by unanimous decision the charge to form an ad hoc committee that will study the feasibility of having all-day kindergarten at both Meadowbrook Farms School and Frenchtown School.

The charge, which was presented by Superintendent Victor Mercurio during the School Committee’s April 15 meeting at Cole Middle School, states that the ad hoc committee will be formed to see if all-day kindergarten programs – which would begin for the 2015-16 school year, at the earliest – at the two schools could be achieved through cost-effective measures and sensitive to the comprehensive fiscal needs of the district.
