SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Pumpkins will be falling from the sky Saturday, Nov. 6 as part of the town's annual pumpkin launch from 1 to 4 p.m. at Carpenter's Farm at Matunuck Beach Road.
This year's pumpkin launch will take place at Carpenter's Farm rather than Hazard's Farm to try to bring more people out to a venue more suitable to the fall season.
Robert Cagnetta of Heritage Restoration, Inc, in Wakefield will launch the pumpkins with the trebuchet he built. Cagnetta started launching pumpkins when a friend who worked for the South Kingstown Parks and Recreation Department had asked him if he knew of anyone who would like to build a trebuchet.
