Budget discussions continue for NK School Committee

February 27, 2014

Superintendent Philip Auger

NORTH KINGSTOWN—The North Kingstown School Committee continued its discussion regarding the FY 2014-15 school budget on Tuesday evening, focusing on potential staff reductions and the district’s vision moving forward for capital improvements to school infrastructure.

“I know that the majority of questions and concerns that came my way have been about the staffing reductions,” said Auger to the committee. “I want to reiterate that the recommendations that I have made do not increase the general budget at all for staffing. There are a variety of places where I felt we could reduce and places in the budget I felt we needed add assistance for different things.”
