BREAKING NEWS: EG Police looking for armed-robbery suspect

May 9, 2012

EAST GREENWICH — The normally-quiet area of Main Street got shaken up on Tuesday night.

East Greenwich Police is currently searching for an armed-robbery suspect who held up Sunnybrook Farms, located at 1002 Main St.

Det. Jeremy Fague says via telephone on Wednesday that the robbery took place between 9 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Tuesday evening, with the suspect wielding a semi-automatic weapon before fleeing from the scene.

The suspect, Fague says, is between the ages of 18 and 20, about 5-foot-7 and wore a Boston Bruins hat, an Ed Hardy T-shirt and some sweat pants that would be worn to lounge around at home or in bed.

Fague also says that the department had received some “promising leads” that could result in the capture of the suspect soon. But Fague reiterates that anyone in the town that has any information that could be of assistance to the case should call the East Greenwich Police Department at (401) 886-8685.
