EAST GREENWICH — East Greenwich Police responded to a report of a bomb threat at Blu on the Water on Water Street late Friday evening.
According to the police report, officers spoke with a security guard who was on call at the time of the incident, which occurred approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday, and stated that while he was working the back gate of the establishment, he observed a male subject looking over the fence. When the security guard allegedly approached the individual, who was described as a dark-skinned male about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and in his late 20s, wearing a white shirt, dark jeans and spiked hair, the individual, according to the report, was walking backwards and pointing at the outdoor area of Blu on the Water saying “bomb” before allegedly running up the street to meet up with another individual.
Warwick Police and the Rhode Island State Police were called to secure the area. Officers advised the management of Blu, according to the report, that a temporary evacuation was needed to search the bar area for anything suspicious. After a brief search, the reports state that no bomb was found and all of the employees and patrons were allowed back into the establishment.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
