By ABBY FOX Dorothy May of East Greenwich is celebrating her 100 years of life on Monday, Aug. 25. Her birthday was celebrated in July at the Crow’s Nest in Warwick with friends Judy (Rohrer) Semones, now living in Roswell, Ga., and Lisa (Hoyer) Johnson. May was housekeeper and caretaker of Judy for 18 years in the 1960s and 70s, when Judy was growing up with brother Michael on Tamarack Drive.
On July 28, the Town Council unanimously voted to place a bond for school facilities on the ballot for the November 4 election.We urge you to vote in favor of this school construction project.
EG Parks and Rec. Department announces Fall 08 offerings

The East Greenwich Parks & Recreation Dept. has announced its 2008 fall offerings.This season's registration will begin by mail and hand delivery only on August 29, 2008.Forms can be delivered prior to this date and will be placed in a box to be drawn lottery style on August 29th.Most classes have a limited enrollment so early registration is suggested.
School Committee Chair Sue Cienki and Superintendent Charlie Meyers both said at Tuesday’s school committee meeting that the new playground at Meadowbrook Farms School looks “fabulous,” and with a new parking lot paved recently, the school is looking a lot sharper.
The school also has new picnic tables, built by high school students.
East Greenwich was graced by filmmaker and actor Greg Ivan Smith last week, who was visiting his friend and local resident Susan Dwyer, while showcasing his film “The Back Room” at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, in Providence.
