Jobless Claims Flat for Week Ending November 14

Initial jobless claims for the week ending November 14 were flat as compared to the previous week, at 505,000. The four-week average of initial claims dropped 6,500 to 514,000, the lowest level since November of last year.

Upgrades: Anworth Mortgage, Target

This morning, Sterne Agee upgraded shares of Anworth Mortgage (ANH) from Neutral to Buy as the stock is currently trading below the firms estimated book value of $7.65 per share. Furthermore, the company has seen many of its higher-priced swap agreements expire, allowing new, shorter duration swaps to be put in place at lower costs.

Flight Attendants at Delta Subsidiary Unionize

Flight attendants at Delta (DAL) subsidiary Compass Airlines have voted to unionize, and will be represented by the Association of Flight Attendants, or the AFA-CWA. A strong majority of Compass flight attendants voted to unionize, the AFA said.

Sony CEO Outlines Plan for Profitability

Sony's (SNE) CEO Howard Stringer outlined his plan for bringing the company back around to profitability today in Tokyo. After posting its first annual loss in 14 years for the fiscal year 2009 ending in March, the company is heading for another loss in fiscal 2010.
