PepsiCo wins ownership rights |

The Indian government has allowed PepsiCo Inc to retain full ownership of its local bottling arm despite regulations about foreign ownership. The decision was taken by cabinet ministers after the global snacks and drinks company said it had plans to invest up to 50 million dollars USD. |

Chinese migrant workers return home a month ahead of the traditional Lunar New Year holiday as their factories fall prey to the global financial crisis. Coastal provinces have long been the wealthiest in China and the main destination for migrants. But they have borne the brunt of falling exports, while the country's poorer hinterland is more closely tied to domestic fortunes that could rise on the back of a hefty government stimulus spending. |

Asian shares begin 2009 trying to recover from one of the worst years ever. PetroChina's expansion will come from the second west-east pipeline, which is due for completion in 2010, stretching from the Xinjiang autonomous region in the northwest to Guangdong province and to Shanghai, the paper said. No investment projection was given. |
