Goldman Sachs (GS) is making a few calls in the energy sector today. Goldman upgraded Norway-based oil and gas company Statoil (STO) from neutral to buy, and even put the stock it on its conviction buy list.

Burger King Stock Upgraded by Deutsche Bank

Despite its announcement last week that winter storms took a bit out of February sales, Burger King (BKC) was upgraded today by a Deutsche Bank (DB) analyst from hold to buy. Deutsche Bank said the stocks current price makes it a good buy, and that it sees room for upside from here as the economy recovers.

Retail Earnings: Ross Stores, GameStop

Ross Stores (ROST) posted fourth quarter earnings this morning of $142.9 million, or $1.16 per share, as compared to $97.4 million, or 76 cents per share, in the same period last year. The earnings pop was driven by sales that rose 14 percent, to $1.98 billion.

FedEx Doubles Earnings, Hikes Outlook

FedEx (FDX) more than doubled it profit in its fiscal third quarter, to $239 million, or 76 cents per share, as compared to $97 million, or 31 cents per share, in the same quarter last year. Earnings came in ahead of analyst estimates.
