With oil prices hitting new records, US President Bush is expected to press Saudi Arabia to increase output. Bush is under added pressure from Congress. Democrats are trying to block a $1.4 billion arms sale to the kingdom if it fails to increase its output of oil. |

California court supports gay marriage |

The California Supreme court overturned a ban on same-sex marriages, ruling it unconstitutional. Massachusetts is now the only U.S. state to allow gay marriage. Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Vermont permit same-sex civil unions that grant largely the same state rights as married couples but lack the full, federal legal protections of marriage. |
