Award-winning posters pay tribute to life lost too soon

June 23, 2014

COVENTRY — Kaci Perry, a student at the Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School and Mariya Furtado, a student at Coventry High School, were honored at a recent Coventry School Committee meeting for their contribution to bringing awareness to the plight of relationship abuse through artwork for the 2014 High School Poster Contest through the Lindsay Ann Burke Memorial/Scholarship Fund.
The fund is a non-profit organization founded to honor her life and to break the silence and end relationship violence.
Burke was 23 years old when she was murdered by her boyfriend, said her mother Ann at the committee meeting.
