‘The Rescue’ kicks off Contemporary Theater’s summer season

June 16, 2014

WAKEFIELD-The Contemporary Theater Company will kick off their summer season on June 20 with the first ever full production of “The Rescue”.
“The Rescue” written by local playwright Ron Maine, is a nonpartisan political satire about the government spending habits. This vaudeville style play is nearly 10 years in the making, as Maine has tweaked it multiple times since he started writing and still actively participates in the production at the CTC.
It all started with an extremely successful staged reading at the CTC in 2013 where actors read from the script on stage with minimal acting to see how the audiences liked the content, allowing them to experience what the play is supposed to be like.  The play was so well received that they decided to launch the first fully staged production of “The Rescue” this month. Play Director, Maggie Cady will make her debut with “The Rescue” as her first mainstage show at the CTC.
