SOUTH KINGSTOWN â€“ As school administrators and committees work to devise an adequate bully prevention policy, teachers are taking action inside the schools to help guide students through those troubling hallways.
At Curtis Corner Middle School, 7th grade English language arts teacher Kristen Precious is one teacher who is taking her lesson plan one step further to teach students about bullying through the books she assigns to the topics they write on.
HOPKINTON -- The Town Council voted unanimously at its April 18 meeting to approve an amendment to the zoning ordinance that would allow bingo games to be held in town under specific circumstances provided they are not held in a "bingo hall."

Yet, kids are not just being stuffed into lockers anymore or given swirlies in a toilet, but are tormented online through social media, which they cannot escape from. With tormented children increasingly committing suicide after months of harassment from their peers, this playground staple seems to be much more than simple growing pains. While many school districts struggle to combat the bullying issue and to develop an adequate bullying policy, the South Kingstown school district is doing all it can to make sure they never lose a student to bullying.

NORTH KINGSTOWNâ€”Jan Hall-Stinson sits at her desk in the Crossroads Family Housing Complex with a small coffee from Dunkin Donuts, a big, white calendar and a stack of paperwork piled high.

WESTERLY - It was the first match of the season, but it may end up being the biggest.
The Southern Division's top three teams met up Tuesday at foggy Weekapaug Golf Club and it was Prout, the home team, coming away with the sweep, beating North Kingstown 164-165 and Chariho, 164-167, while the Skippers earned a split with the two-shot win over the Chargers.
Prout was led by Nicole Scola, the defending girls champion, who shot a 47; No. 4 Matt Costaregni carded a 41 and Nos. 2 and 3 Greg Zervos and Matt Gerlach both came in at 43.
