HOPKINTON -- The fate of the proposed $24.07 million budget for fiscal year 2011-12 rests on the hands of the taxpayers who turn out to the poll today.
KINGSTONâTwo teams squared off against each other on the moist soccer field, one in red and the other in green. The play began and it was a game, a real one, as the crowd looked on and cheered. They shouted for their brothers and sons and friends as though a crowd at a bullfight.
On this Saturday morning, they cheered for the participants of the Special Olympics.
WOOD RIVER JCT. â After quickly gaining steam over the past few months, the Chariho Regional High School Alumni Association held its inaugural meeting Tuesday, June 7.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN â The four suspects charged with the burglary, robbery and conspiracy of a South Kingstown home and resident on Feb. 4 were indicted Wednesday.
The Washington County Grand Jury handed up an indictment charging Brandon Kluth, 20, of 16 John Chafee Blvd., Newport, Stefon Jenkins, 20, of 18 John Chafee Blvd., Newport, Brittney Flesia, 19, of 18 Barnacle Drive, South Kingstown, and Jaylon Butler, 19, of 201 Rogers Lane, Middletown, each with one count of burglary, first degree robbery and conspiracy. Kluth, Butler, and Jenkins were also charged with one count each of assault with a dangerous weapon.

âI was born with this big voice,â says the native of Hokkaido, Japan, laughing. âMy mother said she could hear my voice from blocks away. She would say, âDonât talk so much outside.ââ

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Narragansett High School, participants of all skill levels will have the opportunity to compete in a friendly manner on a predetermined and beautiful course throughout town.
âAside from the opportunity to celebrate Katieâs life, we wanted a social event which brought together the community and to have fun,â said John DeCubellis, Katieâs father.
NORTH KINGSTOWN â The 60-year-old principal of Fishing Cove Elementary School has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
Edna M. âEdieâ Dunn, of 50 Pine River Dr., was stopped by North Kingstown police at 12:20 a.m. on June 3, after an officer observed a silver SUV drifting from lane to lane and then driving in both lanes simultaneously on Post Road near Namcook Road.
