North Kingstown 18, East Providence 0
NORTH KINGSTOWN - James Riley-Garnett threw a five-inning no hitter and Jared Habershaw hit a three-run home run that highlighted a big day at the dish as the North Kingstown baseball team beat East Providence, 18-0, to advance to the state semifinals.
The Skippers will play either Moses Brown or Cranston West Wednesday, thanks to the Quakers win over the Falcons Saturday afternoon.

East Greenwich 18, St. Raphael 6
EAST GREENWICH - Playing in another do-or-die game, East Greenwich scored early and didn't stop the rest of the game, eliminated St. Raphael from the Division I playoffs with an 18-6 win.
The Avengers scored 18 runs on 16 hits, three of which were home runs. John Kalajian had a pair of two-run shots and David Hopkins hit one in his 4-for-6 day.

PAWTUCKET - The Narragansett baseball team looked like they'd have a shot to upset Tolman after playing a close game with the Tigers in a loss Wednesday.

The high-school playoffs were hot and heavy on Thursday for a slew of local area teams, with some taking another step forward towards their goal in being either the best in the division or state.
Here’s a brief rundown of what happened on Thursday within each sport and where the teams will be next in their respective brackets.

Wizards win palyoff opener

WEST WARWICK — All it took was one inning for the West Warwick Wizards to erase the memories of its late regular season struggles, including a loss in the regular season finale to the Exeter West Greenwich Scarlet Knights, Wednesday’s opponent.
With the game tied at 2-2, West Warwick exploded for 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to win going away 13-2 in five innings.
First baseman Richard Grenier Jr. got the rally started with a double to right, the first of eight hits in the inning.

COVENTRY — The harsh reality for the Coventry baseball team is this: It doesn’t matter what the playoff-chasing Oakers do against I-South leaders North Kingstown and East Greenwich.
What matters for the Oakers is winning games against Tiverton, Chariho and Portsmouth to earn a spot in the playoffs.

WEST WARWICK — The West Warwick baseball team felt like it was in Division I again Friday afternoon.
After spending four years in Division I – most of them miserable – the Wizards went down to Division II hoping to find a more level playing field. That has been the case for most of the season but Friday the Wizards ran into Prout starting pitcher Spencer Stall and rest of the defending II-South champion Crusaders.
