NORTH KINGSTOWN – In the season finale for both teams, South Kingstown took the 2014 Turkey Bowl from rival North Kingstown 28-7 at the Perry Athletic Complex Thursday morning.

Rams go 2-0 in LIU Turkey Classic

KINGSTON- In their first season with head coach Daynia La-Force, the URI womens basketball team has shown a competitive spirit and fighting attitude early on. The Rams have improved to 3-3 on the season, and have won two games in a row this past week during the LIU Turkey Classic Tournament.
Rams head coach La-Force knows these victories really help the team early in the season.

Spinazolla shines for Florida State swim

NARRAGANSET--Bianca Spinazzola is a key performer for the Florida State women’s swim team both as an individual and as a member of the 200 and 400 medley relay team.
Spinazzola, a junior from Narragansett (Narragansett High), competes in freestyle, butterfly and backstroke races for the Seminoles but she was part of two relay teams that sparkled in the recent Georgia Tech Invitational.

Lady Rams get ready to tip-off the season

KINGSTON- The University of Rhode Island Women’s basketball team will start the 2014 season Nov. 14 with a new coach and a new "winning mind" philosophy.
Coach Daynia La-Force has brought her nearly 20 years of coaching experience to URI and has been rebuilding the defense and offense to improve the womens basketball program.

Champions crowned: Chariho Unified Volleyball

PROVIDENCE— It was a dream come true for the Chariho unified volleyball team this past week during their Division III playoff run.
After finishing in second place for the last two unified volleyball seasons, Chariho didn’t want to disappoint this time around.
In the opening playoff round, the Chargers defeated fifth-seeded Westerly to be able to move onto the semifinal match versus top-seeded North Kingstown. The defeat against the Bulldogs was the team’s second victory against the team during the 2014 campaign and that rallied the charge this past Thursday and Sunday.

Chariho Field Hockey falls to Clippers in Division II semifinals at EG High

EAST GREENWICH— With the Chariho field hockey team finishing the regular season in first place of the Division II-South standings and Cumberland just coming up short of the first seed in Division II-North behind Classical, it was bound to be an extremely competitive semifinal playoff match between the two teams this past Thursday night at East Greenwich High School.
