WAKEFIELD â Richard âRobinâ A. Foote, who campaigned for stricter safe-driving laws following the death of his son this past year, pleaded no contest last Thursday morning in Fourth District Court to a charge of driving under the influence of liquor.
The all met as fellow students at North Kingstown High School.

Post-graduation, they started out their musical life in various band incarnations, under the names: UFOS, Tapir and Wart-Hog Duo.

Students at Davisville Middle School and Metcalf Elementary School were recently awarded first quarter honors for their strong academic achievements. Below is a list, sorted by grade, of the students to achieve the marks at their respective schools.

Over the past few years, the media has been full of stories of breast cancer and prostate cancer patients who have beaten their diseases and gone on to continue living healthy and productive lives.
Michael Noble is hoping to see a series of similar stories about people who have beaten pancreatic cancer.
Heâs hoping to be one, too.
Thursday night an emergency meeting of the town council was called to approve the Coventry Hazard Mitigation Plan.
Unaware of the stateâs 4 p.m. deadline on Friday for the plan to be passed, the town was notified this week.
RICHMOND -- Chief of Police Elwood Johnson stated that there is still counterfeit currency circulating in town. This was first brought to the town's attention in November, when the police issued a release alerting residents and business owners of this recent development.
NARRAGANSETT--Joseph Penrose and Alex LaVallee co-own and recently opened Anytime Fitness, a 24-hour gym on Nov. 1. The gym is one of three such centers in Rhode Island and is open seven days a week throughout the year. It is guarded by security cameras and accessed through the use of a individualized security card. But if you enter, prepare to be energized.
âFitness is not a sprint itâs a marathon,â LaVallee said, laughing. âThatâs a good quote,â Penrose said.
WEST GREENWICH â With over 100,000 Christmas trees and 14 varieties, Big John Leydenâs Christmas Tree Farm in West Greenwich has been a part of the holiday tradition for many families for 40 years now.

If you enter the tiny Ben Thomas Gallery at the end of the deck at 88 Brown St., youâll find yourself surrounded by images of familiar and beloved spots in the Ocean State.
A Jamestown native, Thomas is a photographer who possesses a boundless fascination with lighthouses at sunset, dories tied up at the dock, seagulls in a row, bridges emerging from fog and quirky views of sails. His topics include historic spots, too, such as the Gilbert Stuart birthplace.
He likes to experiment with reflected light so many of his pieces have a mirrored effect.
RICHMOND â The true first step toward bringing full-time activities for area seniors back to the town's community center occurred this past Thursday afternoon.
