Annual Graffiti Contest this Saturday at 'The Luge'

Podraza offers response

In response to the “warning” classification East Greenwich High School received from the Rhode Island Department of Education earlier this month, EGHS Principal Michael Podraza offered a response to the classification to answer the plethora of questions being asked by many throughout the community, including members of the East Greenwich School Committee.

Local farm recognized as best in state

EAST GREENWICH — At 86 years young, Rodney Bailey still feels like a spring chicken, rising with the sun – along with the sound of roosters – almost every day, for a period of 12 hours, to tend to his livestock that produces an abundance of milk, along with other matters that need upkeep at Bailey Brook Farm.

Natural disaster seminar helps prepare area residents

EAST GREENWICH – Celia Humphreys, merely two, woke up after a storm of fierce wind and rain to discover that a willow tree was knocked into a play area her father had built.
This was the Great Hurricane of 1938.
Humphreys shared this story, and several others, to about 40 people, a congregation of congregations, within The Westminster Unitarian Church, the first of many personal stories of fierce storm damage, rescue, recovery and preparedness during the church’s July 27 all-day storm warning symposium entitled, “Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst.”

Local cyclist readies for Ride Round Rhody

NARRAGANSETT- Cyclists and volunteers are joining together to help raise funds for cancer treatment at local hospitals during the 5th annual Lifecycle Ride ‘Round Rhody (RRR) bike-a-thon Aug. 11.
The mission of Lifecycle is to promote healthy, active living and support local cancer treatment.

Council hears Boothroyd’s talk on rising sea level

No Open Meetings Act violation in Daly-LaBelle case
