Narragansett council to vote on new town manager

September 3, 2013

NARRAGANSETT - On tonight's Narragansett Town Council agenda is a motion to appoint Pamela Nolan as town manager.

If the council approves her contract and she is appointed, Nolan will take over for Interim Town Manager Richard Kerbel.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Narragansett Town Hall.

Town opposes United Water rate hikes

The town of South Kingstown filed a motion to intervene Aug. 23 in United Water’s application before the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission to increase rates for South Kingstown and Narragansett customers.

United Water filed an application Aug. 12 to increase the typical residential customer bill by approximately $10.30 per month – or 34 cents per day.

The increases will amount to an additional nearly $1.6 million, or 43 percent, increase in revenues for United Water.
