Bagelz presents work from artist Susan Gold Purdy

NARRAGANSETT- Bagelz of Wakefield is presenting the work of Connecticut artist Susan Gold Purdy during the open art show on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Although this will be the Purdy’s first time displaying her work in Rhode Island, she is a well-known cookbook author, illustrator, and painter.

NPD members recognized for stellar service

Family, friends and the town council gathered in the Narragansett High School auditorium to celebrate the outstanding efforts of Narragansett police officers during the police department’s awards and promotion ceremony Wednesday.
Chief Dean Hoxsie introduced each officer as he or she approached the stage and was sworn in by Town Council President James Callaghan.
Chief Hoxsie also thanked the families for showing their support to the NPD on a daily basis.

Former Narragansett Times Editor Marcia Grann-O'Brien remembered by her peers

WAKEFIELD–Former Narragansett Times Editor Marcia Grann-O’Brien, 72, of Wakefield, died Tuesday.
O’Brien was a lifelong journalist and writer who won numerous awards during her career. In addition to her work at The Narragansett Times, she founded the Three Village Times on Long Island, served as editor of the Warwick Beacon, worked for former Gov. Lincoln Almond and was inducted into the Rhode Island Journalism Hall of Fame.
