Dear Editor:
I’m not sure why so much of our government has been given over to the quasi-public agencies like the Economic Development Corporation, Resource Recovery Corporation, the Narragansett Bay Commission, the Airport Corporation and all the rest.

To borrow an old phrase, the Anthony Gemma campaign last week “labored mightily and brought forth a mouse.”
His press conference last week fell woefully short of what he promised would “have an immediate, stunning, game-changing impact on Rhode Island politics. It will make national headlines. Lives will be changed profoundly – and mostly for the better.”

EXETER – While most members of the local planning board stop short of calling themselves “stepchildren” when describing North Kingstown’s handling of future land use at the intersection of Rts. 102 and 2, nobody denies there’s rampant unhappiness.

Today is the beginning of a story I’ll be updating for what I hope is a very long time. It’s the story of a little old donkey; blind, horribly malnourished and with a mouth that appears not to have had dental attention in a long time.
Not to mention love. When was that ever part of his life?
He can’t tell us anything about his past but I can talk about his present and his future. He was abandoned on Rt. 165 in western Exeter in early August, left terrified to fend for himself.

WARWICK - Former Chariho School Committeewoman Terri Serra took the stand as the last witness in her own trial on Monday, and defended the actions she took last October when a teenage drinking party took place on her property, and four Chariho boys were injured in a subsequent car crash. Serra is charged under the state’s social host law for the party, and under the duty to assist statute for failing to call 911 at the near-fatal accident scene.
