Willow Dell Beach Club vandalized a week after arson incident

MATUNUCK – After part of the Willow Dell Beach Club was set on fire in an arson incident on Friday, July 8, the beach club was also vandalized a week later this past Saturday.

Rockville Mill to become affordable housing

HOPKINTON - A celebratory groundbreaking was held at the Rockville Mill on Monday, July 18, to acknowledge a project that will turn the abandoned space into 14 affordable rental homes. U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, and Gov. Lincoln Chafee were all on hand to address the gathered crowd and grab a shovel.

NORTH KINGSTOWN – The medals adorning Marine Corporal Tyler Miller’s dress uniform glint in the noonday sun. They represent the survival of Parris Island’s notorious boot camp and two tours in Afghanistan.
The shiny gold discs displayed across the left breast are for combat action, overseas service medal with bronze star, the Navy-Marine achievement medal, the National Defense Medal for serving in wartime, an Afghanistan campaign medal with two deployment ribbons, the Global War on Terrorism medal and a NATO medal for serving and fighting while attached to the international security force.
